How to get crypto for checkout

Cash App must verify your identity for security and legal compliance. To do this, provide your full name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. It usually takes just a few minutes.

Link a bank account or debit card to Cash App

Connect a bank account or debit card so you can move money into your Cash App balance. This makes it easy to transfer funds in and out, which matters if you're buying Bitcoin or cashing out.

Enter the amount in U.S. dollars you want to purchase.

Choose your payment method

Select your Venmo balance, a linked bank account, or a debit card. Credit cards and the Venmo Credit Card cannot be used for direct crypto purchases.

Review and confirm

Review the purchase details, including fees and the exchange rate, then tap Buy to complete the transaction.

Withdraw your cryptocurrency

Withdraw the cryptocurrency you purchased to the Bitcoin address shown at the bottom of your invoice.

Final step

Send your crypto to the address provided at checkout

Once your purchase is complete, withdraw the cryptocurrency to the wallet address we provide during checkout. Double-check the address before sending and make sure you are using the correct network for the asset you selected.
